Indigenous Health is a company that utilizes a blending of integrative care with traditional Native American healing practices along with Western medicine including telemedicine, interdisciplinary practices, and evidence-based treatment techniques to create culturally-appropriate solutions to issues impacting our communities. Our company employs Indigenous health professionals to provide the highest quality of care with supportive, respectful and holistic treatments in the areas of cognitive, behavioral, mental and physical health services by integrating both culturally responsive and interdisciplinary healthcare. Our innovative practices assist to enhance health from an Indigenous framework to advance social, mental, physical, emotional, spiritual and environmental health and well-being.
At the heart of our organization is the desire to honor the cultural identity of Indigenous peoples while advancing health equity and addressing mental and behavioral health issues that disproportionately impact Indigenous people. It is our aspiration that a healing of the Native spirit can begin in earnest by solving the institutionalized health challenges that have existed for generations
The goal of Indigenous Health is to be a pillar to increase health quality and equity for Native American and Indigenous communities by providing individuals, families, and communities a hybrid of Western and Indigenous healthcare practices and strategies. Indigenous Health supports the integration of Indigenous practices to improve an individual’s sense of balance that promotes self-identity, family structure, culture, language and spirituality to address mental, behavioral and physical health. Indigenous peoples must have equitable and culturally safe healthcare practices by acknowledging that language and culture is crucial to self-identity, relations, and health.
“Us guys at Indigenous Health understand health and well-being can be all somehow and us guys just want to provide the bestest healthcare.” - CEO, Dr. Crystal Lee
Through the work and growth of our sister non-profit organization, United Natives, Indigenous Health was created to be able to continue to treat and assess the behavioral health needs that impact Native communities. In 2020, United Natives was able to mobilize along with other partners to create the initial efforts towards healing Native communities impacted by COVID-19. In doing this work, the need for more Indigenous-based methodologies in public health became a demand that clearly was not being met. Thus, the development of what is now Indigenous Health began with a new approach that is now the only mental and behavioral health service associated with United Natives.
